Designated by the European Union, Liverpool has won the bid to become European Capital of Culture in 2008 and will give it the chance to showcase its fantastic cultural life and development.  Many plans and projects are currently taking place that will completely transform the city in terms of what it will bring, -including many jobs.

Fourteen-thousand new jobs are set to be made available with being crowned European Capital of culture along with the increase in tourists.  It has encouraged a £2bn investment which has already been helped by Liverpool being named as a World Heritage city back in 2004.

More and more people are pouring into Liverpool to explore its fantastic cultural heritage and they are seeing a transformation like no other with the investment.

Liverpool’s amazing cultural offering is a prime factor in being awarded Capital of Culture status and this along with the arts have always been important to the city.  The musical impact on the world has been unbelievable along with its unique architecture and sporting connections.
